PROVO, Utah -- Police in Mapleton have arrested two men for allegedly operating an indoor marijuana farm.
The Daily Herald of Provo Utah reports a tip led police to the house where more than 60 plants were growing in clay pots under lights. Police estimate the value of the plants about $62,000.
Utah Officers seized the plants, cultivation equipment, drug paraphernalia and firearms.
Mapleton Police Chief Dean Pettersson says one of the men may have been tipped about the police investigation and had burned marijuana in the fireplace just before officers arrived.
Officers arrested a 24-year-old man and a 27-year-old man. They are being held in the Utah County Jail for investigation of cultivation of marijuana, drug possession, evidence tampering and other charges.
